Did we set the bar too low?

So far, all of the websites we have built this year have achieved a 100/100 page score on both desktop and mobile.

PageSpeed Guarantee

Q1 Quality Review

In January, we introduced our PageSpeed Guarantee, promising our website clients a perfect Google PageSpeed score of at least 90/100 on both desktop and mobile devices.

This was a bold promise, considering the difficulty of reaching such scores. However, looking back at the handful of websites we built during the first quarter of the year, it seems we needn’t have worried. All of them have achieved a perfect score of 100/100 on both desktop and mobile.

While there are no official statistics on this, our best guesstimate is that less than 0.01% of all websites on the internet can boast this achievement. Still, from our perspective, the guarantee is not about perfectionism or shaving off a millisecond from the page load speed; it is about building trust with potential clients. When Google says a website is as good as they get, it’s a clear signal of our expertise and ability to deliver value for our clients’ investment.

After all, there are a lot of agencies out there promising the moon and delivering little.

Interestingly, we did not have to try very hard to achieve these perfect scores. We trusted our best practices, handcrafted web page components, and the lightweight nature of our custom WordPress themes. At most, we spent 1-2 hours optimising each website. This shows that when you build a website the right way from the ground up, achieving perfection is really kind of… effortless.

Perhaps, next year, we will set the bar even higher and guarantee a 100/100 page score.
